COMMUNITY NEWS
On Friday, March 3, 2007 in honor of National Children's Dental Health Month, members of VCDHA gave a presentation to the kindergarten class of South Daytona Elementary school. The presentation included watching a video, demonstrating the proper toothbrushing technique, discussing tooth decay and what causes it, losing primary teeth and getting permanent teeth, the food pyramid and the significance of eating healthy foods, and the importance of going to the dentist for regular checkups. Each child was also given a toothbrush, toothpaste, wild flosser, sugarless gum, a coloring activity, a tooth eruption chart and a letter from VCDHA to the parents. The event went very well, the children were very excited and receptive to us and our presentation.
